Research & Publications
Prof. Joseph Nehru has been actively engaged in research and academic scholarship in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT) and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). His research interests include language pedagogy, curriculum development, technology integration in language teaching, and the application of artificial intelligence in English language education. He has supervised postgraduate research and contributed to academic discussions on innovative approaches to English language teaching and learning.
Doctoral Supervision
Prof. Joseph Nehru has supervised and mentored numerous doctoral researchers in the fields of ELT and Applied Linguistics. Over the course of his academic career, he has successfully guided fourteen PhD scholars and a Doctor of Education (D.Ed.) candidate to completion. He is currently supervising three PhD scholars.

Foreign/External PhD Examiner
Prof. Joseph Nehru has served as an external examiner for doctoral dissertations in several universities in India, particularly in the state of Tamil Nadu. These universities include Madurai Kamaraj University, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Periyar University, Thiruvalluvar University, Bharathiar University, Bharathidasan University, Annamalai University, the University of Madras, and Alagappa University.
In March, 2026 he was appointed as a Foreign External Examiner for PhD adjudication at Thiruvalluvar University and in April 2026 he was appointed as a Foreign External Examiner for PhD adjudication by Bharathiar University.
Journal Peer Review
Prof. Joseph Nehru has served as a peer reviewer for international academic journals in the field of education and language studies. He reviewed a manuscript for the European Journal of Education published by Wiley, contributing to the evaluation of research on innovative teaching practices in English language classrooms.
