Research and Publications represent the scholarly contributions of Prof. S. Joseph Nehru over more than three decades of international teaching, research, and academic leadership. Doctoral Supervision

Prof. S. Joseph Nehru has supervised and mentored numerous doctoral researchers in the fields of ELT and Applied Linguistics. Over the course of his academic career, he has successfully guided fourteen PhD scholars and a Doctor of Education (D.Ed.) candidate to completion. He is currently supervising three PhD scholars.

Foreign/External PhD Examiner

Prof. S. Joseph Nehru has served as an external examiner for doctoral dissertations in several universities in India, particularly in the state of Tamil Nadu. These universities include Madurai Kamaraj University, Mother Teresa Women’s University, Periyar University, Thiruvalluvar University, Bharathiar University, Bharathidasan University, Annamalai University, the University of Madras, and Alagappa University.

In March, 2026 he was appointed as a Foreign External Examiner for PhD adjudication at Thiruvalluvar University and in April 2026 he was appointed as a Foreign External Examiner for PhD adjudication by Bharathiar University.

Journal Peer Review

Prof. S. Joseph Nehru has served as a peer reviewer for international academic journals in the field of education and language studies. He reviewed a manuscript for the European Journal of Education published by Wiley, contributing to the evaluation of research on innovative teaching practices in English language classrooms.
